“Authentic
Leadership” is a buzz phrase in management theory and politics.
It accounts for a significant percentage of the £750m spent on
leadership development in the UK each year. But what are authentic
leaders? What do they do? How easy is it to be an authentic leader
– and can you pretend to be one?
Ken Ideus, founder and director of Delta Partnership has unique views on this issue. Click here to read Ken's thoughts on this issue.

One
of the core developments of our work on authentic leadership has
been the Leader's Voice programme. This unique leadership development
experience combines state of the art recording facilities and
innovative coaching techniques to guide senior leaders on their
quest to find a true and authentic voice and leadership style.
The new Leader's Voice
programme has been successfully run for several organisations
including the national oil company of Angola , Sonangol. Our first
public programme was held at the world famous Abbey Road Studios,
London in September. The event was very successful and we plan
to run further public courses in 2008. Dates will be published
on the Leader's Voice website: www.leadersvoice.co.uk.

How
does a organisation like Delta deal with Social Responsibility?
By supporting projects with the sole objective of making a contribution.
When Skills for Southern
Sudan, an NGO based in the UK and Kenya, contacted Ken Ideus through
a former colleague, Peter Moore, they were needing support - and
in a time frame that made it difficult. The request, to go to
Southern Sudan for the better part of 3 months to lead a project
supporting the development of leaders and staff for the newly
formed government there. The answer, yes, we'll make it work!
Ken worked with his 8 member local team and he was joined in August by Peter Curran, another Delta consultant, who helped to set up a system of training records.
